| Elea has vividly portrayed the heart of a father in the midst of a battle, searching out and finding his sons. The reader can feel his pride and relief as he counts them off, and also his realization that he has been spared a great grief as he witnesses another soldier who clasps a fallen comrade to them in great remorse and grief. Beautifully written and well portrayed. I'd like to think this Captain is Imrahil, and that he was moved by what he saw and this later might play into allowing his daughter to marry that grieving soldier he saw on the battlefield that day. I love it when stories get me thinking like this. Short, but definitely worth the read. |

Well, I printed the remaining chapters and finished this tonight. WOW, I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. This story has taken the spot of my favorite modern Tolkien tale. Just beautiful! I didn't want it to end! Stories like this are VERY few and far between.

| I am very disappointed to find this unfinished adn your account seems to be suspended so I don't even know if you will get this review. I cannot find you on any other site to find out if you are still writing this tale. What a shame! I was so enjoying it and this was a terrible place to stop! |

Um...I'm not your only shadow...Wimsey is just as bad. It's a group effort. *grin*
"Are we all so love-starved that we want to live vicariously through some lucky woman who gets into Legolas’ trousers? And am I so shamefully led by public opinion to deliver such romantic sentiments upon the poor Green Knight’s head?"
Um...YES and Yes, please!
Now, on to the review for the chapter...which was FANTASTIC! This was both tense, romantic and extremely humorous. And for some reason, I don't doubt Legolas had all this planned somehow. He is that devious. I am happy for Mardil and Elwen. What a great match you've arranged. *grin* Now if you could only find Legolas the perfect lady...
I loved Meivel in this as well. But I do worry about Miss Durfinwen and what she will return home to.
Thank you for sharing such marvellous tales. I cannot get enough of them, so I'm reading them again. *wink*
*loud applause* I can't wait for to see what happens next.

*laughs delightedly* That, my dear, was just too great! *snickers* Oh, for once having everything pulled over on everyone. *snorts* Brilliant! And the Green Knight gets the girl he wanted for Mardil! Hope the poor Silver knight doesn't faint!
I loved how you set this up and especially Legolas' reaction to the opening line! HA! I love your Legolas! But poor Mardil. And you had better tell us what went wrong with Meivel and Araval. You know, now that I think about it, why do I feel Legolas' reaction is faked and this is what he had planned all along? *looks thoughtful* But he seemed rather surprised with Deniel and Durfinwen's absence. You need to update again soon!
Now...onto your author's note, which brightened my day like you would not believe! No, Tolkien did not hint at it, but neither did he say the elf was not wed! Did not elves usually wed soon after coming of age? He never hinted that Thranduil had a wife either, yet Legolas was born. *grin* I, for one, would like to add my VERY loud voice (which can carry across several web sites begging others to join my pleas) would ADORE to see him smitten! And while it would be quite interesting to see the lady deny him, it would be much more satisfying to see her come to love him and give him those children he longs for! OH please! *begs on knees* I'm a single mom, you know! This is the only romance I get! *grin* And i request a NC-17 wedding night chapter with this Legolas! I've yet to see a canon Legolas written on his wedding night and by golly, someone of your indesputable talent needs to write it!
As to suggestions, I have one. I got the feeling from an earlier chapter of this story that Durfinwen would be quite the match for Legolas. She has the spunk to match him, and the capabilities of being a wonderful Lady of Dol Galenehtar. Of course, Bandabras and Gimli might not like it, but I think it would be quite endearing to see him fall head over heels after his speeches about emotions fleeting, and see the object of his affection spurn him...at least at first! But I want a happy ending! MY Dear Bandabras left me in tears! The elf needs a happy ever after! *pleads and begs and offers to bake cookies or do some babysitting for nice lovely story* *grin*
Happy writing my dear. May the bunnies bite you, and bite you HARD! *dumps load of carrots at Le Rouret's feet*
