Ellie, once again you've managed to go to the heart of Finarfin and portray him so regally, and gloriously with every ounce of dignity he deserves without losing an iota of the depth of his pain and joy as a father. He is tremendously portrayed her with the same powerful ability as in messenger and you manage to deliver the same punch with one relatively small expression of the void left in his life by Aegnor. Speaking of which, how much of a punch does the mention of his refusal of reembodiment until the return of his beloved Andreth pack? Its like a sock in gut almost. As much as I like Crossroads and as much as it has influenced my own decision to write, I have to say Ellie, you have found your calling in Finarfin. Seriously, you own him. I can't even begin to imagine him written any other way. Not that there's a terrible surplus of Finarfin fic. Another excellent job. Oh, and so you don't have to wonder, the waterworks began at the expression of joy watching children play, the little girls reminding him.

Ghetto said it much better than I. But I will add that I have often imagined this meeting myself. I really like how you have him forgetting what must have been a bad parting and her refusal (by some interpretations) after the War of Wrath. Just like I would for my daughter. And yes I glazed up at the end.

Please keep writing Finarfin, you do him justice.

Ellie, this little Finarfin fic was truly lovely to read. You packed so much universal emotion into it - the love that every parent feels for their child, the forgiveness for all transgressions, wanting only to see the loved one again. You did a magnificent job with this. I am glad I could help. You have so much potential... keep writing! And thank you for entering my challenge.

That was so beautiful, I am in tears, they are happy tears, but still I am not one to dry easily. You have such a gift.

Very Happy smiley face
