That leads to another question: there is some kind of underwear beneath the leggins/ breeches/whatever?

Wearing nothing under that tight leather trousers-etc might be quite painful... Yikes!

And not only for men.

I´ve just remembered that Friends episode when Ross goes on a date with a pair of black and very tight pants, and because of the sweat the damn thing shrink and he can´t put them off...

I hope Aragorn got some vaseline in his travel pack.

Ahem.

:::realize how bad has sounded that::

I have been on a medieval festival today and good a good look at breeches/leggings/trousers.

Some wore really tight leggings. And they were far from having a cute elven arse.
Some wore loose fitting leather colored breeches.

But most wore woolen trousers. Those trousers had some kind of flap in the front they could unbutton if they needed to...relieve themselves or other things... ahem. And they emphasized those things a lot. Shocked

Not really helpfull, but I just wanted it to share with you

I did a search of all of the trilogy and found no mention of trousers, leggings, or pants (the latter term is American, mostly. To Tolkien, it would have referred to underwear). There are references to breeches, worn by hobbits or orcs. What can we conclude from this? Did they wear nothing???

This site has tons of information of medieval underwear for both men and women:

I forgot to say that I also checked the Oxford English Dictionary and it shows the first mention of "trousers" in print in English in 1613. It says they were distinguished from breeches by extending to the ankle and fitting more loosely.

In russian fandom we indeed have an expression "Aragorn's pants" which basically refers to something that must be here in the book, but never gets mentioned.

I am so going to do this when the weather cools or even before from a cotton interlock. The purchased pants fit me too weird to wear any place. I would love a set that actually fits. I am loveing all these garments you are posting. Rolling Eyes

Been a while since I got Aragorn out of his clothes (and that's a damn shame), but I wrote high fantasy lately and the boys all wore chausses. http://www.randyasplund.com/browse/medieval/chausse1.html

Oh, and now you got me thinking about Aragorn's pants. And poor Boromir, who doesn't have any. (And doesn't need any.)

Uh oh, I think y'all just set mah brain on fire.

As Summer is heating up Tank tops should be your essential part of your wardrobe that will make you feel comfortable and cool in summers. I ordered Bella+Canvas T-shirt 3006 last week and it looks so classy and it is cheapest I can find.
