I've been following the casting process and as far as I know there is no one cast as Thranduil yet. I have heard the rumours about David Tennant, but nothing official (but then maybe they want it to be a surprise Wink !). If you have Facebook, you can friend Peter Jackson or the Hobbit News... great sources of info!

It's official:

Lee Pace has been oficially cast as Thranduil

... and Orlando Bloom seems to be back as Legolas.

I've been watching Pushing Daisies on Netflix lately. Lee Pace has lovely comedic timing, but I just can't see him as Thranduil. Gonna take a bit for him to convince me. Bring it, PJ.
