If you haven't seen this yet, please take a minute to watch this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FPfL212CB8
The list of 'banned' animals has not yet been defined, but it could potentially make it illegal to keep, breed or move house with everything from Teddy Bear Hamsters, leopard geckos, pac man frogs and betta fish to species like nutrias, Snake Head fish (EW!), red-bellied Pacu, and Reticulated Pythons which the legislation is aimed at "controlling".
Please help me keep my Chinchillas (native to Chile), my mouse (China), my hamster (Syria), my betta (Thailand) and my ball pythons (western Africa). If you've ever had a gerbil, or a parakeet, or a cockatiel, this bill could touch you too. _________________ An Infinite Source of Pervy Wisdom.

I have two cockatiels, a parakeet, ferret, all mentioned in the video as well as Bengal cats, which I am sure would be included.
I even checked out another site to make sure this was not a scam.
I am not sure what I would do if they tried to take them from me, or even just restricted what I can do with them. _________________ The only opinions that count, are those of the ones in control.

I never heard anything about this. So, I wouldn't worry. It's not like they're going to go house-to-house and search everyone's place to see if you have any illegal pets. If you're worried that it is true, then either call or write or email and ask your local governer about it. _________________ [ ] |

I'd love to have a Gambian rat. They were legal, banned and now are legal again to have, but not to breed -- as I understand it. So I don't know how the heck I'm supposed to acquire one. _________________ "May it be a light to you in dark places." |
