I've seen this term used in a couple of secondary sources, referring to the Stewards of Gondor.

Does anyone know of a primary source reference?

From 'Peoples of Middle Earth', HoME vol XII, pp202-3;

Quote:
For a long time before Mardil's day the Stewardship had usually been held by a member of the family (the Hurinionath, descended from Húrin, Steward to King Minardil).

And from David Salo's 'A Gateway to Sindarin';

Hurinionath (with no accent on the u) - Hurin + ionath, (plural of ion - 'son')

The term's actually mentioned a few times in PoME.

Excellent. Thanks, Weavil.

I have it in a yet-to-be-posted drabble and didn't want to have to reword and mess up that perfect 100 Laughing I like to be in canon.

I have PoME; really got to read it sometime ... Embarassed

Great post full of useful tips! My site is fairly new and I am also having a hard time getting my readers to leave comments. Analytics shows they are coming to the site but I have a feeling “nobody wants to be first”.

This is a common problem now for many sites. It seems the leaving kudos or thumbs up constitutes as a 1000 word OMGILOVEDISRITEMOR!!!

OF course, it doesn't but... I figure if I'm getting traffic, I'm being read.

Ah, I long for the days when readers left feedback.
